iC1 Earth Continuity and Pilot Protection Relay
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Leaders in innovative protection systems, the iC1 Earth Continuity Relay is engineered to provide reliable monitoring of supply-cable earth continuity using a pilot-core termination via diode to earth. Designed for robust mining and industrial environments, the iC1 supports both local and remote start operation and maintains high immunity to pilot cable capacitance and inductance.
It is compliant to AS2081:2011.
APPLICATION
iC1 ensures that the pilot circuit remains intact before energising equipment, providing a critical safety interlock for: • Mining electrical starters
• Pumping systems
• Conveyor systems
• Underground and surface fixed plant
• Any installation requiring earth continuity verification prior to motor/feeder start
FEATURES
• Operational up to 45 Ω maximum loop resistance
• High tolerance to pilot cable capacitance and inductance — supports long cable runs
• Pilot-to-earth termination via 1A diode or compatible with m-tronix Smart Pilot Node
• Relay remains closed when pilot circuit is healthy
• Local/remote start operation switch selectable
• Remote start/stop operation using 100 Ω resistor
• LED status indications:

• Two sets of changeover (C/O) contacts provided
